Do-it-yourself veranda to the house step by step construction

Do-it-yourself veranda to the house step-by-step construction

Unlike capital extensions to the house, an open veranda with your own hands can be on a lightweight foundation.

Consider step-by-step construction of a wooden veranda, how to quickly build a veranda to a country house, we will analyze the pros and cons of a veranda from a bar, photo materials will help you build an open and closed veranda with your own hands.

In a house made of wood, all kinds of outbuildings look fashionable and stylish – and a wooden veranda is among them. Such an addition becomes an excellent platform for a summer lunch, tea drinking with friends or just an evening of relaxation. An open veranda is well suited for a pleasant pastime – it is so nice to admire the sunset from it, but a closed veranda provides an additional opportunity to insulate the house.

Using our CALCULATORof building materials, you can calculate the amount of all materials for the construction of the veranda, outbuildings, and even the house itself.

For self-construction of the veranda you need:
& # 8212; sand, concrete, gravel;
— bitumen;
— bars 10×10 cm;
— waterproofing, thermal insulation;
— edged board;
— roofing felt;
— antiseptic – to impregnate wood;
— nails, anchor bolts.

When everything you need is purchased, the actual construction of the veranda begins.
Step one: preparing the site for the construction of the veranda (you can read about the construction of the foundation HERE)
The site of the proposed site is cleared from debris, remove the top 15 centimeters of soil.

remove the fertile soil layer

It is advisable to level the site, but this is not necessary – pouring the foundation will hide the flaws, however, more concrete will go away than with a neatly leveled surface. After that, markings are drawn on the cleaned part, pegs are placed in the corners and string or twine is pulled, marking the boundaries of the construction site.

Step two: pouring the foundation < p> Install the posts for the foundation – for this they dig holes up to 70 centimeters deep, 20 centimeters fill it with sand, moisten and compact.

After the sand has dried, a layer of crushed stone up to 10 centimeters high is poured and spilled with a liquid bitumen solution to provide waterproofing. After that, the actual foundation pillars are laid.

Step three: the foundation of the future veranda

The laid foundation pillars are covered with pieces of roofing material to provide additional waterproofing. Then they perform the strapping, connecting the beam at the joints using the “half-tree” method. At this stage, the timber at the corners is coated with waterproofing for wood.

Fourth step: the frame of the attached veranda

At the corners of the future veranda, racks are placed vertically, driving them into specially hollowed out grooves. Strengthen the connection with metal brackets.

Similarly, set up intermediate posts spaced at least 60 centimeters apart.

Here you should check that the planned doors and windows fit between the racks – it will not be possible to cut them. They are tied from above, the beams are laid and the racks are placed along the wall, and the rafters are laid on top of the racks and the floor logs below in pre-hollowed grooves.

Step five: the floor

Across the floor logs, I nail the boards that form the floor with stainless nails.

If desired, cover with linoleum, but you can leave the boards open. In this case, they need additional impregnation from fire, rotting, bugs.

Sixth step: roof for the veranda

At the installed rafters put waterproofing, it with self-tapping screws. Another wooden grate is stuffed on top – this presses the waterproofing against the rafters and creates an air cushion between the insulator and the roof – this will slow down the decay of the rafters and grating. Another grate is nailed on top and covered with roofing material. Then the sides are sewn up.

It remains to put the stairs, and complete the outer skin if necessary, and that's it – the veranda is ready!< /p>

This type of veranda can be attached not only to the house, but also to the bathhouse, to the country house, thereby increasing its area!
