Paving slabs.

In order to make your land more attractive and well-groomed, and lay out paving slabs, you do not need to learn complex technologies, or spend a lot of time on it. In fact, for example, garden paths can be laid out within two to three days, and a large area will take a little more than two weeks. It is advisable to have an assistant at the same time.

If you did not make tiles yourself, but choose them in a store, then stop at the so-called “vibrocast”, which is somewhat more expensive, but also stronger than “stamped”.

As a rule, its standard thickness varies between 20 mm and 60 mm, depending on the purpose for which it is intended. So, the thinnest – 20 mm is intended only for footpaths, and driveways are laid out 40 mm.

If you have never laid tiles, then you should not immediately take on complex geometric patterns, start with simpler shapes .

Paving of paths and platforms with paving slabs.

You should also understand that you will need quite a lot of sand, depending on the area that you plan to cover with paving slabs. In general, before starting work, it is approximately worth calculating the dimensions of the tracks, or the sites that you plan to pave. It is advisable to immediately adjust the plan so that the tiles have to be cut less. After that, it is advisable to make a markup using a tape measure, pegs and twine.

The next stage, and one of the main tasks, is the alignment of those areas where the tiles will be laid. To do this, cut off the sod layer, level the resulting surface and take care of excess water drains (in any convenient way). After leveling, a layer of gravel is poured and on top of it a layer of moistened sand. Next, these two layers are tightly packed, and you can start laying tiles.

Laying starts with curbs, unless, of course, you planned to install them. For them, a trench breaks out along the sides of the track, so that a little less than half of the curb is hidden, it would be optimal to use concrete mortar to strengthen it.

It is advisable not to allow large gaps, again, unless it is provided your plan and track pattern. When you're done, go for a walk, check the track for bumps. After that, all that remains is to fill the gaps with sand-cement mixture and pour everything with water from a garden hose. In three days, you can safely use the new track, it will be completely ready for use.
